FASworld Canada Serves the World Community
Presentations and Workshops on FASD
Since our founding in 1999, Bonnie and Brian have given workshops and presentations across Canada, in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They will tailor a presentation for your group upon request and can adapt any of their standard presentations to suit your interests. Bonnie and Brian do many presentations together and are available individually as well.
Bonnie & Brian are available online and by telephone for counseling during business hours (EST) and will travel to your location to give interactive workshops, presentations or consultations for travel expenses and a budget-conscious speaking fee. They can be reached at 416-264-8000 or info@fasworld.com .
Counseling
Both Bonnie and Brian provide a free counseling service by telephone or e-mail for individuals who are seeking specific information about FASD in relation to family members, loved ones or themselves. All communication is treated on a confidential basis and is of an advisory nature. Neither Bonnie nor Brian are medical practitioners and do not recommend specific medications or therapies. They do, however, outline options available to individuals seeking services in relation to FASD issues.
FASD Family Support Group
Facilitators Bonnie Buxton and Brian Philcox meet with this group on the second Saturday of the month from 0930 to noon. Child care is available but you must advise Bonnie or Carolyn. Currently, the group is meeting at a new location: Please watch for location information updates in Find a Support Group or call 416-264-8000. Please let Carolyn Puersten know of your interest in joining this group: carolynpuersten@sympatico.ca and she will keep you up-to-date on meetings. Call Bonnie if you need child care (416-264-8111) so we can ensure enough caregivers for the children. There is no charge for the meeting or child care but a volunteer donation of a toony per family helps defray incidental expenses.
Guidelines for Parents
Whether the question is how to start a parent support group or how to deal with an uncooperative child with some form of FASD, FASworld can provide help.
